Bail Applications

Once the accused has been charged with a criminal offence or a serious traffic matter, they must be brought before a bail granting authority as soon as possible.

The bail granting authority can be a police officer in charge of a police station, two justices of the peace or a judicial officer (Supreme Court justice, District Court judge, magistrate).

The accused may decide not to apply for bail then her or she will be remanded in custody.

Should you, or anyone you know, need representation for a bail application, contact Lawson Legal for a free initial consultation with one of our experienced criminal lawyers.
