Jury at trial

After a person has been charged (the accused) with a criminal offence or a serious traffic matter, they eventually must elect whether to plead guilty or not guilty.

If the accused wishes to plead guilty, he or she will progress to a sentencing.

Should the accused elect to plead not guilty, he or she will advance to a trial.  Trials in Western Australia are conducted either in the Supreme Court, District Court or Magistrates Court, depending on the seriousness of the offence.

Should you, or anyone you know, need representation for a trial, contact Lawson Legal for a free initial consultation with one of our experienced criminal lawyers.
